ESRA Herzliya had an entertaining and thought provoking talk from Linda Silverstone in January which she called "Poetry in Laughter and Tears".
Linda, a star in the Sharon Players presentation of Calendar Girls last year, has a delightful and charismatic personality.
She shared her life experiences with us. Having lost a daughter to Leukemia, she told us how she had found inspiration and solace in putting her feelings, both tragic and joyful, down on paper in the form of beautifully expressed poetry.
It was also very interesting to learn about the formal way of writing poems, reading some famous poems and then writing her own poems in the same format.
It truly was an evening of "poetry in laughter and tears". All present thoroughly enjoyed it.
