Enjoying country and folk music as the sun goes down. What could be better? Yes . . .

Sea, sun, relax and have fun … that was the objective of ESRA Modiin's annual end-of-the-year event – a beach party held at Palmachim beach on June 19. We kicked-back, shmoozed and drank good wine and, of course, ate; what Jewish function would be complete without munchies and crunchies.

Providing enjoyable entertainment that left everyone clapping for more were the wonderful wife and husband duo of Leah and Yoseph Urso. They played a selection of country and good oldies, an Irish jig and folk music, which, against the setting sun, made for a perfect event. We are especially grateful to the Ursos as they stepped in at the last minute when the trio we had previously booked could not make it. Even a member of the audience, Simcha Sheldon, could not resist borrowing Yoseph's guitar and adding a song or three.

A raffle was also held with exciting prizes, adding to the proceeds, all of which benefitted Neve ESRA, our Modiin's afternoon care center for children at risk.

A good time was definitely had by all.
